Testing for Workforce Development Programs
NBS partners with nonprofit workforce development organizations to offer competency-based testing at a reduced rate.
Testing and Credentialing for Nonprofit Workforce Training
Workforce development agencies across the country provide critical job training programs that help people learn in-demand skills and get back to work. NBS partners with these organizations to provide testing and credentialing services. Technical skills assessments help align training to industry standards, validate trainee’s skills, and prepare a skilled workforce for local industry needs. Nonprofit workforce development programs may be eligible to provide NBS skills assessments at a discounted rate. Individuals who meet the industry-determined benchmark earn NOCTI’s Workforce Competency Credential.
If you are interested in partnering with NBS for your workforce development testing needs, please download a program application to get started. We also have a program flyer available for download.
Workforce Development Program Details
Which Programs Qualify?
Eligible workforce development programs include non-degree programs that provide training for adults (or youth who are no longer seeking a high school diploma) to assist in developing skills that will help them gain employment without a degree.
Which NBS Assessments Are Available?
Our library of over 120 entry-level technical assessments are available. Tests include employability skills and industry-specific skills.
NBS has also partnered with our sister organization, NOCTI, to offer a Workforce Competency Credential to test-takers with a successful passing score on any of the tests. The Workforce Competency Credential is a credible means of verifying the knowledge and skills expected by industry. Test-takers who earn the credential will receive a digital badge they can add to their resume or online profiles.
Many of these assessments have also been approved by the National College Credit Recommendation Service (NCCRS) for college credit if their school is willing to transcript the score for the student.
How Much Are Assessments?
For nonprofits in our Workforce Development Program, tests are $30.00 per assessment
How Will We Administer Tests?
Tests are administered through our online testing system. We can provide text-to-speech (TTS), time extensions, and large print paper/pencil assessment accommodations for candidates with special needs.
Tests must be proctored. NBS also offers a remote proctoring option for your convenience for an additional $35 fee.
